Junehong Kim, MD

Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Kim is a cardiologist and a Chief Executive Officer of Tau-PNU Medical, which was founded by Dr. Kim in 2014 while he was working in Pusan National University (PNU) and Pusan National University Yangsan Hospital (PNUYH).

He was also a Sr. Research Fellow in Cardiovascular Intervention, National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Maryland, the USA from 2005 to 2007.

He is a professor of Internal Medicine, PNU and a director of Medical research center of PNU, and he is also a Director of internal medicine in PNUYH.

He received an M.D. and Ph.D. from the College of Medicine, Pusan National University.

Justin Kim, JD

Chief IP Officer

General Manager, Tau Medical (US)

At Tau, Justin is responsible for developing and implementing an IP strategy to protect Tau’s core technology, as well as driving value from the company’s IP assets. Prior to joining Tau, he served as a partner of Maxon IP, an intellectual property firm specializing in medical device patent prosecution and counseling. Prior to the private practice, he worked for the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) where he examined various patent applications. Prior to his legal career, he worked as a wireless application engineer at Texas Instrument Inc. in Dallas, Texas.

He is a graduate of Master's in electrical engineering from the Texas A&M University at College Station, Texas, and he obtained his Juris Doctor from the Valparaiso University Law School at Valparaiso, Indiana. He is a senior advisor of the Korean American Intellectual Property Bar Association (KAIPBA) and served as the President of the KAIPBA (2017-2018).

Sichan Sung, MD

Head of R&D Center

Dr. Sung is a Head of R&D Center of Tau-PNU Medical for providing professional medical advice and guidance on entire our cardiovascular product pipelines and agendas.

He was a chief and professor in the Department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, Pusan National University Hospital (PNUH), and is a member of the Korean Society of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery.

He received an M.D. and Ph.D. from the College of Medicine, Pusan National University.

Jaiwun Park, MD

EU Clinical Advisor

Dr. Park is a EU Clinical Advisor in Tau-PNU Medical for providing strategic advice and guidance on our European clinical research projects.

He is a head of cardiology at Dietrich-Bonhoeffer-Klinikum (clinic), Germany and a senior consultant in cardiology of Charité hospital, Germany.

He received M.D. and Ph.D. from the College of Medicine, Ludwig-Maximilians University, Munich, Germany.

Jongyoon (Alex) Park

Chief Operating Officer

Jongyoon (Alex) Park has started his career in an investment bank and while working as an investment banker and venture-capitalist for eight years, he has been involved in many IPOs, financing and M&As. After his career in financial industry, he has moved to bio and healthcare industry and as a CFO he has managed to setup two venture companies (bio pharmaceutical and invitro diagnostics) and successfully listed those companies in KOSDAQ. He is expertized in accelerating a healthcare venture company and has joined Tau in 2020.

Yonghyun Won

Chief Technology Officer

Yonghyun is serving as a CTO for developing and designing entire product pipelines, its overall quality control and assurance of Tau PNU Medical. Prior to Tau, he has served as an R&D Team Leader in Taewoong Medical for developing a variety of microscope based cardiovascular medical devices and catheters related and conducting wide range of national projects, and quality management for more than 20 years.

He is Ph.D candidate in Biotechnology with B.S. in Biomedical Engineering at Konkuk University, Korea.

Yeongjae Lee

Executive Director, Clinical Affairs

Youngjae Lee has proven hands-on expertise in the domestic medical device industry (Class 4 experience) since 2002. At Tau, he is fulfilling corporate operations, corporate sales & marketing, and corporate relations since 2017.

Sujin (Mary) Jung

Director of Research Planning & Development

Sujin (Mary) Jung is currently working as a Director of Clinical Research in Tau PNU Medical after her Master's degree in Bio-materials Engineering since 2014. She has conducted a variety of national cardiovascular medical devices projects, hands-on clinical trials, intellectual property management, and quality management in accordance to KGMP (Korea Good Manufacturing Practice) under the KFDA (Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety).

Jimmy Curley

R&D Manager

Jimmy joined Tau PNU in 2018 to the R&D team. With his extensive knowledge of medical device design and development, he managed the training of team members while also providing experience in the creation of numerous prototypes that have propelled Tau PNU to its current state. Additionally, he took the role of design engineer, providing drawings for all Tau products and fixturing. In recognition of this, he has been promoted to R&D Manager to further the development of the Tau PNU team, with the missions that Tau’s R&D team will be accomplished and products will be of high quality and effectiveness.

Arend Keane

R&D Team Leader

Arend is an experienced research & development engineer with a demonstrated history of working in the biotechnology industry, focused mainly towards minimally invasive catheter technology. Qualified with a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) focused in Biomedical/Medical engineering from the Galway/Mayo Institute of Technology.
